My client are an established start up that combines 20 years of business consulting experience with a team of technology specialists focusing on BI, Analytics & Cloud Platform solutions for the Built Environment, Manufacturing and Zero Emissions projects. They are based in the Shoreditch technology hub and work with clients in the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

This role provides enormous scope for the people they hire to be part of something incredibly exciting and unique. Firstly, there is scope to develop beyond the role and help shape a team, grow a department, and create working practices that elevate the business to the next level making them a ‘go to’ organisation for not only their existing propositions but for the exploration of new ideas and development.

As their solutions become larger and more complex, they are keen to bring someone into the team with a minimum 5 years of practical experience developing, testing, and deploying enterprise-wide Power BI based solutions working with data from multiple sources.

Most of their solutions today are based on the data they extract from cloud SaaS application APIs we know well including Project Management, Finance, CRM and HR applications. However, they are also now getting more requests for bespoke development where they need to rapidly understand and build data models and reports for new data sources. Their approach to sales is to offer a rapid prototype where they show their clients what is possible whilst demonstrating their ability to deliver.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

You will:

·        Have at least 5-years commercial development experience with Power BI

·        Have practical experience with:

o    SQL (ideally MS SQL)

o    JSON data extracted from APIs

·        Be highly proficient in MQUERY and DAX

·        Have an attention to detail and consistently deliver well thought through, accurate dashboards and reports to a high visual standard.

·        Have the ability to listen to and understand customer needs and turn them into interesting and useful dashboards and reports.

·        Be able to turn around prototypes of new solutions quickly

·        Be a team player and work collaboratively

·        Be a mentor: be passionate about sharing your knowledge with their developing team

·        Have good verbal communication and interpersonal skills

·        Have a desire to take on responsibilities beyond hands-on software engineering/development

·        Strong experience with Data Warehousing and Data Modelling
